Getting Here
Hideout by Lake sits about an hour's drive from Islamabad, at Khanpur Dam near Saradna. Here's how to make the journey — and a few tips for the road around the dam.
Head north-west from Islamabad city centre and join the Grand Trunk Road towards Haripur. The drive out of the capital is straightforward and well-signposted.
After roughly 35 minutes, take the Haripur Road exit. Continue towards Khanpur town, following signs for Khanpur Dam.
Once you see the reservoir, take the lakeside road towards Saradna village. The final stretch winds downhill toward the water — keep the lake on your right.
The farmhouse gate is marked and our team will share a pin on WhatsApp. Private parking is available inside the grounds.
Total distance & time
Approximately 55–60 km from Islamabad city centre, around 45–60 minutes by car depending on traffic. The final 10 km are lakeside village roads.
Depart Islamabad before 8 AM on weekends to avoid GT Road traffic and reach in daylight.
The last few kilometres are unlit village roads — plan to arrive before sunset, especially on your first visit.
The descent to the reservoir has sharp curves and occasional livestock. Take it slow and use your horn on blind corners.
There are no fuel stations near the dam. Top up your tank in Haripur town before the final stretch.
Mobile signal drops near the lake. Save the route on Google Maps offline so you don't lose navigation.
Signal can be patchy at the gate. Message us on WhatsApp once you're in Khanpur town and we'll guide you in.
Prefer not to drive? We can arrange a pick-up from Islamabad or Haripur on request — just let us know when you book.
